Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking a General Assistant in York to help maintain high cleanliness standards and create a positive environment for members and staff. You will support daily operations, contribute to training initiatives, and ensure brand standards are consistently applied across the club.

The role focuses on friendly customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork within a busy gym environment, with development opportunities and staff discounts as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Commitment to delivering excellent member service.
• Experience in a customer-facing, cleaning, leisure or similar environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Support and maintain JD Gyms brand standards across all areas of the club.
• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly cleaning and safety checks.
• Report all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Ensure the gym facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards in line with company expectations.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Support learning and development initiatives, including training activities designed to promote consistent standards across the business.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties.
