Job summary

HAUC(UK) in Melksham seeks a Gully (Vactor) Cleaning Operative to join our highway drainage maintenance team. You will operate a vactor unit and input safety data using tablets/apps, contributing to daily assets upkeep.

You may drive and operate trained plant and equipment, supervise less experienced operatives, and take responsibility for vehicles, plant and materials. You will also participate in winter and emergency maintenance on standby.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team operating a vactor unit undertaking highways drainage asset maintenance.
• Use tablets/apps to input safety data and maintenance records.
• Drive and operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
• Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
• Provide direction and supervision of the work to less experienced operatives where appropriate.
• Undertake winter and emergency maintenance out of hours activities on a standby rota.
• In the event of downtime or service disruption you may be asked to fill in on other highways maintenance activities such as repairing potholes, patching, drainage, footways or general highway maintenance.
