Job summary

Ringway Infrastructure Services Ltd is seeking a motivated Gully Driver/Operative to cleanse and maintain highway drainage systems across the county. The role focuses on gullies, catchpits and related assets to keep the network safe and operational, in a hands-on, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways maintenance, drainage, utilities or similar operational environment.
• Experience operating HGV vehicles and specialist road maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of highway drainage assets and cleansing activities.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in roadside environments.
• Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to use handheld technology (tablets/mobile) for work allocation and records.
• Experience in frontline operational teams delivering public services.
• Emergency First Aid at Work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate gully cleansing vehicles and associated plant and equipment.
• Carry out routine and reactive highway drainage maintenance activities.
• Clean and maintain gullies, catchpits and drainage systems.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
• Work in accordance with safe systems of work, risk assessments and procedures.
• Accurately complete job records and electronic work tickets.
• Support colleagues and assist with other highway maintenance activities as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with the public and stakeholders.
• Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Report defects, incidents and health and safety concerns promptly.
