Job summary

Mercor is seeking a detail-oriented Gujarati annotator to work on transcription and structural annotation of Gujarati documents. You will verify language and legibility, bound page regions with types and reading order, and ensure exact character-level transcription for a variety of layouts, including multi-column pages and handwritten forms.

Candidates should be native Gujarati speakers with precise orthography and a proven track record in document annotation or related localization tasks,

Qualifications

• Native Gujarati speaker with full command of Gujarati script and orthography.
• Exact character-level transcription accuracy is required.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or QA of documents is a plus.
• Ability to apply a consistent taxonomy across many pages.

Responsibilities

• Open and check tasks provided; confirm Gujarati language and legibility.
• Annotate page structure: bound regions with types and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe Gujarati text exactly as shown, flag unreadable content.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, handwriting status.
• Participate in peer review to ensure first-pass accuracy.
