Mercor is seeking detail-oriented English-Gujarati annotators to process Gujarati document pages. You will identify regions, assign types and reading order, and transcribe all Gujarati text verbatim.

The role emphasizes high accuracy and thorough review, with tasks including metadata capture and cross-checks during expert reviews. You will work with real Gujarati documents across diverse formats, ensuring legibility and correct scripting.

Qualifications

• Native Gujarati speaker with full command of Gujarati script and orthography.
• Meticulous and accurate transcription and annotation required.
• Experience with document annotation, transcription, localization or proofreading is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify Gujarati content, ensuring pages are legible and contain real content.
• Identify and bound each meaningful region on a page and assign type and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe all Gujarati text exactly, flagging unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata (language, type, source, dimensions, table/form/handwriting flags).
• Participate in expert review rounds to ensure quality on first pass.
