Job summary

Mercor is seeking native Bengali speakers to annotate and transcribe Bengali documents. You will identify, bound, and label regions in Bengali PDFs, ensuring exact script and reading order while recording page metadata.

Responsibilities include binding regions to figures or tables, recording relationships, and flagging unreadable content. The role emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and collaboration through peer reviews.

Qualifications

• Must be a native Bengali speaker with full script knowledge.
• Character-level accuracy is essential for this work.
• Experience in document annotation or transcription is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Source Bengali PDFs for annotation tasks.
• Identify and bound meaningful regions on the page and assign a type and reading-order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to the parent figure or table.
• Transcribe Bengali text exactly, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, and dimensions.
• Review a colleague's work as part of the end-to-end quality process.
