Job summary

Chester Zoo in Chester, United Kingdom, is seeking an Admissions Assistant to be the first point of contact for visitors at the admissions lanes and ticket sales. The role includes selling and delivering commercial products and handling email and phone enquiries.

This temporary position involves evening work for the Lanterns & Light event, plus some cleaning duties. The rota ranges from 8 to 40 hours per week, with weekend, bank holiday, and evening hours.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service in person, on the phone and via email.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Organised with good IT skills and a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience of EPOS systems and cash handling.
• Confident, flexible with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Comfortable standing for long periods in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist visitors at admission lanes and ticket sales.
• Sell and deliver commercial products and services; handle enquiries via phone and email.
• Work evenings during Lanterns & Light events and perform cleaning duties.
