Job summary

The Bryntirion Inn in Wales is seeking a friendly Waiter/Waitress to join our front-of-house team. You will warmly greet guests, present menus, take orders, and ensure a smooth dining experience.

You will work closely with kitchen and bar staff, handle payments, keep the dining area tidy, and help maintain high standards of service and food safety. Previous hospitality experience is helpful but not required, and we value a positive, team-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly and professional manner with customers.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required.
• Present menus and provide detailed information about food and drink offerings.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen and bar.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently and courteously.
• Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any requests.
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, cutlery, and glassware.
• Clear tables and reset them for the next guests.
• Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the dining area.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
