Job summary

HSBC in Guernsey is seeking an experienced Area Director to lead the Premier team and manage a client portfolio, delivering holistic financial planning and wealth guidance.

You will coach relationship managers, ensure high service standards, and build strong local connections to grow HSBC's presence in the Islands.

The role combines team leadership with hands-on client advice, offering tailored development opportunities and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Strong advisory and holistic financial planning capabilities across a wide range of products and services.
• Excellent communication, influencing and sales skills for needs-based solutions.
• Proven experience in Wealth Adviser, IFA, Financial Planning Manager or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Premier Team in Guernsey to meet islanders' banking, lending, investment and insurance needs.
• Coach and develop relationship managers to strengthen capability, performance and career progression.
• Apply HSBC Operating Model to deliver consistent people management, service and sales outcomes.
• Build internal and external connections to strengthen HSBC's presence in Guernsey and embed it in the local community.
• Monitor sales activity and KPIs, using insights to focus the team and achieve business goals.
• Recruit and onboard relationship managers in line with headcount plans and conduct performance reviews.
• Set objectives, address underperformance per policy and provide incentive recommendations.
• Evaluate performance and support development planning across the team.
