Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking a motivated Team Leader for the Business Growth service to lead and develop the team, working with the Head of Investment & Development to deliver the Council Plan and Economic Framework. You will build relationships with major employers and ensure delivery of growth priorities.

The role offers hybrid working, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities to shape local enterprise support and regeneration across Walsall.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team in a public or large private sector.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across levels of seniority.
• Experience in economic development, business growth or regeneration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Business Growth team to deliver the Council Plan and Growth priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with major employers and partners to support growth.
• Coordinate with the West Midlands Growth Company and other partners to maximise outcomes for business and productivity in Walsall.
