Job summary

WMC Training in Northampton (NN7) is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner with LV2/LV3 Early Years qualifications and nursery experience. The role focuses on supporting curriculum delivery, observation, safeguarding, and developing young learners in a collaborative team.

You will work closely with children aged 0-5, undertake activities, and pursue further qualifications with employer support. This is an in-person, full-time position aligned with early years standards.

Qualifications

• Must have prior nursery experience.
• Willing to learn a childcare qualification.
• Ability to write clear objective observation.
• Commitment to complete a childcare qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support fellow educators to deliver the curriculum and standards.
• Work towards an early years qualification with support from staff and provider.
• Seek support from the team to assist learning.
• Care for children aged 0-5, incl. feeding, nappies and toileting.
• Work as part of a team to meet Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
• Plan and support age-appropriate play that aligns with the curriculum.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
• Observe, assess and record children's learning and development progress.
• Provide an enabling environment that meets each child's needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Follow the setting's policies and procedures.
• Attend regular team meetings.
• Maintain health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
• Attend additional training via the Setting Manager.
• Liaise with external agencies to support children as appropriate.
• Undertake other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager.
