Job summary

Jones Whyte in Glasgow is seeking a Family Solicitor (NQ - 2 years PQE) to join our growing team and manage a varied caseload including separation, financial provision, and child matters.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working to support work-life balance. You will be part of a department that values client care, professional development and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• At least 1-year PQE experience ideally with broad family law experience.
• A dynamic individual, wanting to be part of a modern, friendly, family law team.
• Excellent relationship and client handling skills
• Strong work ethic and team player
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and under pressure and often to tight court and case deadlines
• Positive outlook
• Kind and caring individual, who is compassionate and empathetic of nature

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of family law matters.
• Corresponding with clients and other solicitors.
• Progressing matters to litigation in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, where appropriate.
• Advocacy of litigated matters, including instructing counsel and witnesses where required.
• Supporting business development within the department.
• Reporting to the partner leading the department on all matters.
• Providing quality, practical advice to clients about their options.
• Researching points of law and updates in legal developments.
• Maintaining and using the firm’s case management system.
