Job summary

Jones Whyte is seeking a Family Solicitor (NQ - 2 PQE) to join our Glasgow office on a permanent, 35-hour contract. You will manage your own caseload across family matters including separation, divorce, financial provision and child-related issues.

You should be a dynamic, client-focused solicitor with strong communication, organisation and time management skills, capable of working independently within a supportive, team-oriented family department.

Qualifications

• At least 1-year PQE experience ideally with broad family law experience.
• Dynamic individual with a modern, friendly family law mindset.
• Excellent relationship and client handling skills.
• Strong work ethic and team player.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of family law client matters.
• Corresponding with clients and other solicitors.
• Progressing matters to litigation in Sheriff Court and Court of Session when appropriate.
• Advocacy of litigated matters and instruction of counsel when required.
• Supporting business development within the department.
• Reporting to the partner leading the department on all matters.
• Providing quality, practical advice to clients on options.
• Researching points of law and updates in legal developments.
• Maintaining and using the firm’s case management system.
