Job summary

Professional Technical Ltd. is seeking a Service & Operations Director to shape the future of the Service division and drive long‑term strategy. The role reports to the Managing Director and offers a salary up to £80,000 with a 20% bonus, plus a company vehicle or allowance, health plan, pension, and holiday progression.

Based in Wirral with some travel, 4 days office, 1 day home. You will lead a 40-strong team including 4 team Leaders, 1 Service Manager, and 1 Commercial Manager, with future

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within service, maintenance, or field-based engineering operations.
• Strong commercial awareness with budget and profitability responsibility.
• Experience developing and implementing operational or service strategy.
• Proven ability to manage contracts with SLAs and KPIs.
• Ability to lead and develop large teams and act as a trusted senior leader.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the long-term strategy for the Service division.
• Take responsibility for service delivery, profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Lead and develop the Service Manager, Project Management team and Engineering Team Leaders.
• Build strong relationships with key clients and act as the senior escalation point.
• Lead the geographical growth and future development of the division.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation and sustainable growth.
• Oversee service contracts, budgets, forecasts and departmental targets.
• Improve engineer productivity, response times, first-time fix rates and PPM performance.
• Use technology, systems and operational data to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Maintain high standards of engineering quality, health and safety, and customer care.
• Contribute to wider business strategy and decision‑making as a member of the Board.
• Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Purchasing, SHEQ and the wider operational teams.
