The Role
The role will be responsible for managing the Group’s Tax compliance and planning. This includes oversight of UK and Ireland tax matters and managing external advisers across jurisdictions. The role involves identifying and managing tax risks related to income, capital, employment, and indirect taxes, as well as contributing to Group tax accounting, including deferred tax assets.
Key Responsibilities
UK and Ireland Tax Compliance
- Establish processes for timely and accurate filing of computations and returns, overseeing liabilities settlement.
- Manage the Group’s relationship with HMRC and oversee audits and inspections.
- Ensure reliable tax provisions, effective tax rates, and payment assumptions in P&L and Cash Forecasts.
- Partner with HR on employment taxes, IR35 compliance, and PAYE Settlement Agreements.
- Monitor legislative changes affecting tax positions.
- Develop and maintain Making Tax Digital processes.
Global Tax Oversight
- Manage the Group’s tax advisers across jurisdictions for optimal service procurement.
- Oversee tax aspects of external audits and collaborate on accounting judgments and disclosures.
- Develop tax strategies and identify planning opportunities.
- Work with Treasury to optimize intercompany balances and mitigate imputed interest taxes.
- Oversee Transfer Pricing Strategy and its implementation.
- Contribute tax input to M&A activities.
- Partner with international HR on employment tax compliance.
- Manage withholding taxes and recoveries.
- Maintain the Tax Risk Register and undertake special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
- UK Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser or equivalent.
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience in group tax roles with increasing responsibilities.
- Understanding of employment tax matters.
- Proficiency with finance systems and tools.
- Experience in multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
