The Group Tax Manager is responsible for supporting the CMC Markets Group with its global tax compliance and reporting obligations. The role is a mixed tax role but with a particular a focus on international corporation tax compliance and reporting.
Your role will be to ensure strong tax governance and controls are in place, as well as thorough production of timely and relevant tax returns and reporting to support the countries in which CMC Markets operates.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure CMC Markets is in compliance with its international corporation tax obligations across all regions that group operates in.
- Manage and oversee the half-year and year-end group tax reporting process for the group's international entities. Ensure statutory tax reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion and are accurately prepared.
- Supporting the Group Head of Tax with the development and maintenance of the group's transfer pricing policies and defence documentation, supporting the current tax strategy and commercial operating model across the group.
- Supporting the Group Head of Tax to develop and maintain a robust tax governance, controls and risk mitigation framework ensuring tax controls are operated effectively.
- Provide tax advice which support to senior management and business units on transactions, restructurings, and new business initiatives.
- Supporting other tax team members on other areas of taxation (such as VAT, employment taxes and operational taxes) as required.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and external advisors to ensure cohesive tax planning and compliance.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Qualified tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA or ATT) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in tax with a top tier professional services firm (preferred) or as part of the group tax team of a global business with international operations.
- A strong background in UK and international tax compliance and reporting.
- A desire to work in a fast-paced environment and to take responsibility and ownership of allocated work.
- An agile individual with the ability to work independently and to drive a project forward as a self-starter
