Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading SHEQ, safety and compliance across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Proven track record managing audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent higher qualification preferred.

Are you an experienced SHEQ Manager, Health & Safety Manager or Compliance Manager looking for an opportunity to take ownership of safety, quality and environmental standards across a growing business?

We are recruiting for a Group SHEQ Manager to join an established and expanding organisation within the manufacturing and FMCG sector.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity, offering responsibility for driving Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards across multiple operational sites. You will play a key role in shaping compliance strategy, improving processes and supporting the business through its continued growth.

The Role

As Group SHEQ Manager, you will take overall responsibility for developing and maintaining SHEQ standards across manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and wider business operations.

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk and drive a proactive culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop SHEQ policies, procedures and management systems across multiple sites.
• Take ownership of ISO management systems, certification requirements and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety, environmental and quality regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Oversee accident reporting, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality and operational compliance.
• Lead and develop teams across Health & Safety, Quality and Compliance.
• Support supplier quality, product compliance and internal audit processes.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering and senior management to implement effective SHEQ standards.
• Support business growth by integrating consistent policies and procedures across new and existing operations.
• Monitor and report on SHEQ performance, compliance risks and improvement activities.

About You

We are looking for a confident, hands‑on SHEQ professional who can operate at both a strategic and operational level.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a SHEQ Manager, HSEQ Manager, Health & Safety Manager, Compliance Manager or similar.
• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution or another regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of ISO management systems, particularly ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Proven experience managing audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across multiple departments or sites.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• A proactive, practical approach to improving safety standards and operational performance.

A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent higher qualification would be advantageous.
