Job summary

Assured Safety Recruitment Ltd in Reading, Berkshire is partnering with a leading FMCG business to recruit a Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager. The role reports to the Site Leader and sits on the Senior Leadership Team, owning all SHEQ activities to drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.

You will lead cross-functional SHEQ programmes, ensure ISO 9001/14001/45001 compliance, and guide senior leaders on safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or similar industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience working with ISO management systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on, people-focused approach with the ability to influence and inspire others.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities across the site.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Provide SHEQ guidance and support to senior leaders and operational teams.
• Drive employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with PUWER and LOTO requirements.
• Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage and develop one direct report.

Reporting directly to the Site Leader and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will take ownership of all SHEQ activities across the site, helping to drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.

• Lead all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities across the site.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Provide SHEQ guidance and support to senior leaders and operational teams.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including PUWER and LOTO requirements.
• Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.

About You

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar industrial environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma/ Level 6 qualified.
• Strong understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
