Job summary

Indevor Group is recruiting an experienced Group Senior Management Accountant to join our growing Group Finance team based in Chorley.

This hands-on role owns month-end, management accounts, balance sheet control, cashflow reporting, and intercompany accounting across a multi-entity Group, while mentoring the wider finance team.

You will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and act as their deputy, driving process improvements in a fast-paced, owner-managed business.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in senior management accounting or similar role.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls.
• Experience with multi-entity group reporting and intercompany accounting.
• Experience supervising junior finance staff.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded and hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process across multiple Group entities.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and month-end controls.
• Support group consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and liquidity reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and working capital management.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities and report to Group Finance Manager.
• Contribute to annual statutory accounts preparation and audit support.
• Coach and develop junior members of the finance team.
• Review outputs before escalation to Group Finance Manager.

The Opportunity

Indevor Group is looking for an experienced Group Senior Management Accountant to join our growing Group Finance team based in Chorley.

This is a key, hands-on position within the finance function, working closely with the Group Finance Manager and acting as their operational deputy across the day-to-day delivery of Group Finance.

You will take ownership of month-end processes, management accounts, balance sheet control, cashflow reporting, consolidations and intercompany accounting across a growing multi-entity Group, while also supporting and developing members of the wider finance team.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and working within a fast-paced, growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process across multiple Group entities.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain robust month-end controls.
• Support Group consolidations and manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations and recharges.
• Prepare cashflow forecasts and liquidity reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and working capital management.
• Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities and provide clear analysis to the Group Finance Manager.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and external audit requirements.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records and finance system outputs.
• Review and improve financial processes and controls as the Group continues to grow.
• Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance and support to Management Accountants, apprentices and junior finance colleagues.
• Review team outputs before escalation to the Group Finance Manager.
• Act as the first point of escalation for operational finance matters.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience within a Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager or similar role.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts.
• Excellent knowledge of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Previous experience working across a multi-company or multi-entity Group structure.
• Experience of Group reporting, consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Experience preparing cashflow forecasts and supporting budgets and forecasts.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring junior finance team members.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded and hands-on approach.

Experience within an SME, owner-managed or growing business would be particularly beneficial.

Qualifications

AAT qualified as a minimum.

Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent would be advantageous.
