Alexander Hotels Group is recruiting a Group Maintenance Assistant and Painter to support maintenance teams across our 5 luxury hotels in the South of England. The role involves work at multiple locations with travel to Guildford and Egham, reporting to the Operations Director and collaborating with General Managers on priority tasks.

You will demonstrate ability in general maintenance, plumbing, electrical work and painting, ensuring safe, tidy, and high-quality results for guests and staff

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience ideally within a guest/customer environment
• Confidence with basic plumbing, electrical and painting

Responsibilities

• Support onsite maintenance teams across multiple hotels
• Complete daily maintenance tasks from a priority list
• Carry out painting and decorating to high standards

Job Title: Group Maintenance Assistant and Painter

Hours: 5 days out of 7 including weekends to allow for scheduling tasks around guest requirements. 40 hours per week, flexible working shifts

Location: Must be able to travel and cover tasks in Guildford and Egham in Surrey (2 hotel locations we have recruited for our other 3 hotels).

Salary: £29,000 per annum + monthly service charge payment

THE JOB

Alexander Hotels are a collection of five luxury hotels, in the 4 & 5-star market, based in the South of England. We are looking to recruit for a Group Maintenance Assistant and Painter to support our onsite maintenance teams at our 5 hotels. You will report to the Operations Director and liaise with General Managers about priority tasks needing support.

To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate confidence in keys areas of maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical and painting.

MAIN DUTIES

General Maintenance Duties

• Completing general maintenance tasks from the daily maintenance list ensuring that priority tasks are completed
• Tasks will include pool plant, basic plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry/joinery. While we are seeking a multi-skilled person, we do not expect you to be able to cover all these trades!

Painting and Decorating Duties

• Applicants will possess excellent technical skills in all areas of painting
• Practice effective preparation techniques to ensure a lasting and high quality finish
• Ensure excellent quality of applications in order to meet excellent standards
• Be competent in all finishes; gloss work, emulsion, egg shell, wood stain
• Have a good eye for detail
• Work in a safe way for yourself, colleagues and guests causing minimum disruption

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment covering a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a customer environment
• General maintenance experience ideally within a guest/customer environment
• Priority areas of experience either plumbing or electrical
• Someone located to make travel to our 2 hotels in Guildford and Egham realistic.
