Job summary

Quadram Institute Bioscience invites applications for an ambitious Group Leader (Professor or Associate Professor equivalent) or Career Track Group Leader (Assistant Professor equivalent) to establish an independent programme on how food components shape the gut microbiome and host health.

This strategic appointment includes a substantial package with an equivalent value of up to £500,000, supporting start-up funding, consumables and access to core facilities to build a world-leading research

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant life science field.
• Proven track record of independent research leadership and high-impact publications.
• Experience in securing competitive research funding.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
• Clear vision for microbiome and host health research.

Responsibilities

• Lead an independent research programme focused on diet-microbiome-host interactions.
• Establish a sustainable funding portfolio and manage a research group.
• Develop innovative microbiome models and assays; drive collaborations with industry and government.
• Mentor and build multidisciplinary teams across the Quadram Institute.
• Represent the institute in national and international scientific forums.
