Job summary

Spirax Group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the Group IT finance function in Cheltenham. You will drive planning, forecasting and business partnering with senior leaders to improve performance and ensure robust controls.

You will manage a small finance team, partner with IT leadership, and shape strategic investment decisions. A professional accounting qualification and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with at least five years post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner in a commercial organisation.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Experience managing and developing teams within a finance function.
• Experience supporting an IT department or technology-focused environment is advantageous.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting for the Group IT function.
• Oversee financial controls, processes and governance compliance.
• Review monthly management accounts, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Present financial performance and insights to senior stakeholders.
• Manage intercompany recharge processes across business units.
• Provide financial guidance to support IT initiatives and investments.
• Support capex business cases and accounting treatment of costs.
• Lead and develop a finance team of three colleagues.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and controls.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the Group IT finance function, providing financial insight, planning, forecasting and business partnering support to senior stakeholders across the organisation. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring robust financial controls and supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives within a global IT function.

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles for the Group IT function.
• Oversee financial controls, processes and compliance with Group financial policies and governance requirements.
• Review and sign off monthly management accounts, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting submissions.
• Present financial performance, forecasts and insights to senior stakeholders, including Finance Directors and executive leadership.
• Manage intercompany recharge processes across business units.
• Provide financial guidance and recommendations to support strategic IT initiatives and investment decisions.
• Support capital expenditure business cases and ensure appropriate accounting treatment of costs.
• Lead, coach and develop a finance team of three colleagues.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting and controls.

Your Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least five years' post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner within a commercial organisation.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Experience managing and developing teams within a finance function.
• Experience supporting an IT department or working within a technology-focused environment would be advantageous.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making at leadership level.
