Job summary

Pertemps Black Country Perms is seeking a Group Health & Safety Manager to lead and influence safety culture across Midlands operations. You will oversee strategy, policy, and safe working practices, ensuring compliance and best practice across all sites.

The role requires strong leadership, NEBOSH certification, and a track record of delivering improvements in complex operations. You will report to the senior leadership team and engage with regulators and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety is essential.
• Experience leading safety across multiple sites or businesses.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, compliance and audits.
• Strong leadership and management skills with ability to influence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group Health & Safety strategy across sites and functions.
• Drive continuous improvement and monitor KPIs.
• Oversee investigations, audits, risk assessments and compliance activities.
• Partner with senior leadership, operational teams and key stakeholders.
• Chair Health & Safety meetings and manage action plans.
• Liaise with regulators, consultants and other bodies as required.

Job description

My Midlands based client are looking for a Group Health & Safety Manager to join the company on a full time & permanent basis. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who can influence at all levels, promote a positive safety culture and ensure the highest standards of compliance and best practice. You'll be responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight of Health & Safety across all areas of the business, ensuring consistent standards, policies, procedures and safe working practices are implemented and maintained.

Duties: –

• Lead and develop the Group Health & Safety strategy Drive continuous improvement across multiple sites and operations
• Set Health & Safety standards, objectives and KPIs and monitor performance against them.
• Manage and develop the Health & Safety team Lead investigations, audits, risk assessments and compliance activities Partner with senior leadership, operational teams and key stakeholders
• Chair Health & Safety meetings and oversee action plans
• Build effective relationships with Directors, managers and key stakeholders.
• Liaise with regulators, consultants and other relevant bodies where required.

Key Skills: –

• Proven experience leading Health & Safety activity, preferably across multiple sites or businesses.
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, compliance and audit requirements.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
• Experience managing and developing teams with a collaborative leadership style. Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to drive improvement and deliver results.
• Ability to provide practical, commercially aware Health & Safety advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
