Job summary

Pertemps Black Country Perms is seeking a Group Health & Safety Manager to lead the H&S strategy across multiple sites, ensuring compliance and a proactive safety culture.

You will provide leadership to the H&S team, partner with senior management, carry out audits and investigations, and report on KPIs to Directors. This role offers influence across the business and requires strong communication and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Health & Safety activity, preferably across multiple sites or businesses.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, compliance and audit requirements.
• Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to influence.

Job description

My Midlands based client are looking for a Group Health & Safety Manager to join the company on a full time & permanent basis.This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who can influence at all levels, promote a positive safety culture and ensure the highest standards of compliance and best practice.

You’ll be responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight of Health & Safety across all areas of the business, ensuring consistent standards, policies, procedures and safe working practices are implemented and maintained.

Duties:

• Lead and develop the Group Health & Safety strategy
• Drive continuous improvement across multiple sites and operations
• Set Health & Safety standards, objectives and KPIs and monitor performance against them.
• Manage and develop the Health & Safety team
• Lead investigations, audits, risk assessments and compliance activities
• Partner with senior leadership, operational teams and key stakeholders
• Chair Health & Safety meetings and oversee action plans
• Build effective relationships with Directors, managers and key stakeholders.
• Liaise with regulators, consultants and other relevant bodies where required.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience leading Health & Safety activity, preferably across multiple sites or businesses.
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, compliance and audit requirements.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
• Experience managing and developing teams with a collaborative leadership style. Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to drive improvement and deliver results.
• Ability to provide practical, commercially aware Health & Safety advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
