Job summary

TQR Consultancy Ltd in the United Kingdom is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead H&S across multiple sites. You will provide expert advice, guidance and support to senior management, managers and safety representatives to ensure legal compliance and promote a proactive safety culture.

You will develop and maintain H&S standards, carry out audits and inspections, investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in a Health & Safety role within a multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience with Risk Assessments, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for Health & Safety matters across the business.
  • Provide advice on current and emerging Health & Safety legislation and actions.
  • Promote and develop a positive Health & Safety culture.
  • Work closely with senior management, managers and Health & Safety representatives to ensure compliance.
  • Develop, review and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and programmes.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements, COSHH, PUWER and LOLER documentation is in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Lead and support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
  • Carry out regular Health & Safety inspections and audits across sites, facilities and departments.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement practical solutions to reduce risk.
  • Support the development of proactive safety reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with management and the People team to identify and coordinate appropriate Health & Safety training and health surveillance where required.
  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure appropriate Health & Safety standards are maintained.
  • Keep the business informed of relevant changes to legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Support environmental performance and compliance initiatives where required.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to managers and employees on Health & Safety matters.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a growing organisation with operations across multiple UK sites.

This is a key role responsible for providing expert health and safety advice, guidance and support across the business, working closely with senior management, managers and Health & Safety representatives to ensure compliance with legislation and promote a strong, proactive safety culture.

You will play a hands-on role in developing and maintaining health and safety standards, carrying out audits and inspections, investigating incidents and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who is confident working across a complex organisation and comfortable advising and challenging at all levels.

You will ideally have:
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in a Health & Safety role within a complex or multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience with Risk Assessments, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence to influence, challenge and advise senior management.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Good commercial awareness and a practical approach to Health & Safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
