Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Group Health & Safety Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of the Group Health & Safety function. You will provide expert advice, assurance and challenge across the organisation, guiding a small specialist team and collaborating with Workplace, Property, HR, Security and Operational Resilience to embed safety into everyday operations.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate with NEBOSH Diploma or progress towards the qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice in workplace environments.
• Experience leading health and safety professionals across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to design, implement and monitor health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of Group Health & Safety function and ensure delivery of priorities.
• Manage and develop the Health & Safety team with clear objectives.
• Provide practical, competent advice to leaders and stakeholders.
• Oversee workplace inspections, audits and assurance actions.
• Coordinate governance and performance reporting on health & safety.
• Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and learning actions.
• Lead health & safety programmes for workplace changes and projects.
• Build relationships across the organisation to improve standards and culture.
