Qualifications

Description
Purpose

Lead all tax-related matters and projects, managing global tax compliance, planning, reporting and broader tax issues.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring appropriate support and advice while managing costs.
  • Ensure tax accounting arrangements are robust to satisfy the SAO regime in the UK.
  • Assess and annually update the UK Tax Strategy.
  • Lead the relationship with the UK Corporate Compliance Officer.
  • Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders, such as finance teams and senior management, and maintain relationships with legal and HR functions.
  • Stay updated on global tax developments, assess their impact, and advise on strategic options.
  • Lead the Group's OECD Pillar 2 and Bermuda CIT projects, ensuring compliance during the deferral period.
  • Take responsibility for tax disclosures in the Group’s AR&A and IFRS financial statements of subsidiaries.
  • Manage transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and policies in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with CBCR requirements and TCSH calculations, working with the Finance team.
  • Support US tax compliance efforts, including Federal, BEAT, and US Branch taxes.
  • Work closely with UK teams on VAT and IPT reporting to meet HMRC expectations.
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Experience in a similar tax role or at an accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing corporate income tax, VAT, and other taxes.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • Stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex messages effectively.
