Purpose
Lead all tax-related matters and projects, managing global tax compliance, planning, reporting and broader tax issues.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring appropriate support and advice while managing costs.
- Ensure tax accounting arrangements are robust to satisfy the SAO regime in the UK.
- Assess and annually update the UK Tax Strategy.
- Lead the relationship with the UK Corporate Compliance Officer.
- Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders, such as finance teams and senior management, and maintain relationships with legal and HR functions.
- Stay updated on global tax developments, assess their impact, and advise on strategic options.
- Lead the Group's OECD Pillar 2 and Bermuda CIT projects, ensuring compliance during the deferral period.
- Take responsibility for tax disclosures in the Group’s AR&A and IFRS financial statements of subsidiaries.
- Manage transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and policies in collaboration with external advisors.
- Ensure compliance with CBCR requirements and TCSH calculations, working with the Finance team.
- Support US tax compliance efforts, including Federal, BEAT, and US Branch taxes.
- Work closely with UK teams on VAT and IPT reporting to meet HMRC expectations.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Experience in a similar tax role or at an accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
- Experience managing corporate income tax, VAT, and other taxes.
- Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.
- Stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex messages effectively.
