• The Role

We are looking for a financial accountant to join our Financial Reporting & Control team. This role is a key part of our finance team, working to prepare, review, and manage the Group's internal and external financial reporting.

Over the last 18-24 months, Policy Expert has been investing in its finance team, evolving into a modern finance function to support the group's growth. Recently, Policy Expert was acquired 50% by private equity investor Cinven, alongside investment from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Consequently, our financial reporting and control environment needs to continue maturing, including a potential GAAP to IFRS conversion in the coming years.

You will have opportunities to contribute significantly to financial reporting and control, in a team that continues to grow and improve.

• Key duties will include:

• Supporting the drafting and review of financial statements under FRS102 and advising on accounting standards changes.
• Drafting papers on key accounting matters for Audit and Reserving Committees.
• Collaborating with the Group Financial Controller on accounting issues, with opportunities to present to senior management.
• Managing the annual and interim audit processes.
• Developing and documenting accounting processes, systems, and controls.
• Providing support to other teams on accounting and reporting issues.
• Supporting the record to report team during monthly closes.
• Overseeing group-level accounting entries (VAT, taxes, investments, debt, equity).
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial data accuracy.

Who are you:

• Likely to be your first move from practice, with experience as an audit manager or assistant manager at a top-4 firm.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles (FRS102) and IFRS.
• Experience resolving issues related to key accounting estimates and judgments.
• Experience working in larger organizations with mature financial controls; corporate/group accounting knowledge is essential.
• Willing to share ideas and collaborate on system and process improvements.
• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA.
• Some knowledge of taxation principles, including corporation tax computations.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
