We are working with a growing and highly regarded investment trust business to appoint a Group Finance Manager. This is a key role within the finance function, offering broad exposure across group financial reporting, statutory accounting, consolidations, controls and stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leadership and play an important role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality financial information across the group and its investment structures.
This role would suit a technically strong, qualified accountant with experience in financial services, investment management, investment trusts, real assets, private markets or other complex group structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the preparation and review of group management accounts and financial reporting.
- Manage the group consolidation process, including multiple entities and complex investment structures.
- Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and support the year-end reporting process.
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
- Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting procedures.
- Support the preparation of board and senior management reporting.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, investment and senior leadership teams.
- Provide technical accounting support on transactions, new structures and other business initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall efficiency of the finance function.Mentor and support junior members of the finance team where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a high-calibre finance professional with:
- Strong experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts and group consolidations.
- Ideally trained in a Big Four or leading accountancy practice, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Experience within investment management, investment trusts, asset management, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, financial services or another complex regulated environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
- Experience managing and delivering a high-quality year‑end audit process.
- The ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly.
- A proactive, commercially minded and hands‑on approach.
- Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems would be advantageous.

Candidates with experience working with or auditing investment trusts, listed funds, asset managers, alternative investment businesses, real estate funds or complex investment structures will be particularly relevant.
