Job summary

Human Appeal, based in Cheadle, Manchester or Birmingham, seeks a Group Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting, and governance across the organisation.

You will oversee consolidation, statutory compliance, and external audits, providing strategic financial insights to drive growth and resilience. The role requires senior finance leadership experience and strong ERP proficiency, with a focus on building a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA) with 7+ years PQE.
• Significant experience in financial control, group reporting, consolidation, and financial management within a complex organisation.
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (Group Controller/Head of Finance).
• Experience managing external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group financial reporting process (monthly, quarterly, annual statements).
• Consolidate results across Group entities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, governance frameworks.
• Oversee statutory/tax/audit requirements across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate external audit and address findings/recommendations.
• Provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
