Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is partnering with a manufacturing client to recruit a Group Electrical Maintenance Engineer for several sites in North Manchester. The role focuses on maintenance, installation and fault-finding of machinery and robotics across multiple plants.

The ideal candidate has PLC experience (Siemens preferred), 18th Edition, IPAF training, and a willingness to travel between sites. A long-term commitment is expected with an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AC/DC drives is essential.
• 18th Edition qualification is required.
• IPAF training is preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, ideally Siemens.
• Installation work is a core part of the role.
• Mechanical experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot across multiple North Manchester sites.
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on machinery and robotics.
• Install, fault-find and service equipment from old machines to robotics.
• Be available for an on-call rota (1 week in 7).
• Work across several manufacturing plants in the group.

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a permanent and varied role? Is your background in manufacturing? Do you have PLC experience?

We're partnering with a long-standing client to find an experienced and dedicated Group Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work across a handful of sites around North Manchester.

You'll have previously worked in a manufacturing environment, in particular with machinery and robotics. You'll also have experience with programming and fault finding on PLC's.

About You

• You'll have your own transport and be committed to working across various sites around North Manchester
• A sound knowledge of A.C / D.C drives is essential
• You'll need your 18th Edition
• City & Guilds 2391 (test and Inspection) is preferred
• IPAF trained
• PLC experience (Siemens ideally)
• There is lots of installation work in this role
• Mechanical experience would be helpful
• CompEx and Atex would be an advantage

About The Job

• It's a multi-site role where you'll work across a handful of North Manchester based manufacturing plants
• You'll join as Group Electrical Engineer where you'll be responsible for planned/unplanned maintenance, installation and fault-finding on machinery and equipment from 100 year old machines to top of the range robotics
• They're looking for someone dedicated who can stay with the company for a long time
• The on-call rota is non-negotiable; you must be able to commit to 1 week out of 7
