Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group is seeking a Group Director of People & Organisational Development to lead the strategic people, culture and workforce agenda for a major not-for-profit housing and care provider. The role reports to the Executive Director, Resources and oversees a workforce of over 10,000, with hybrid work and travel between London and Bradford.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Senior-level qualification such as CIPD or demonstrable equivalent expertise.
• Experience leading strategic people, culture or organisational development in a large complex organisation.
• Experience influencing Executive Teams and Boards.
• Proven track record of large-scale culture transformation.
• Experience in employee engagement and organisational effectiveness.
• Experience developing long-term workforce and succession strategies.
• Experience operating in regulated environments (housing, care, health or public services).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Anchor's People & Culture Strategy to support priorities and future workforce needs.
• Act as the executive lead for culture, employee engagement and experience.
• Provide strategic advice and challenge to the Executive Team and Board on capability, succession, culture and effectiveness.
• Lead organisation-wide initiatives to strengthen leadership and talent development.
• Sponsor cultural and organisational transformation programmes improving performance.
• Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and colleague wellbeing as drivers of success.
• Use workforce insights to inform decision-making and drive improvements in performance.
• Build high-performing teams and foster an inclusive, values-led culture.
