Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role is challenging yet rewarding, leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position involves overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will:

• Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
• Possess strong financial understanding,
• Have problem-solving abilities,
• Be confident in leading a team,
• Be self-motivated and driven,
• Possess excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the company's credit function.

Key tasks include:

• Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, assist in renewal negotiations,
• Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
• Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
• Handle cash collection for all group companies,
• Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and enforced,
• Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
• Manage credit applications, PODs, and major credit decisions,
• Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency procedures,
• Set and review credit policies and manage credit notes,
• Assess risks for existing and new credit accounts,
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
• Review sales Terms and Conditions, and visit customers and sites as needed.
