Job summary

SF Recruitment are currently working with a growing and successful business in Northampton who are looking to recruit a Group Assistant Accountant into their Group Finance team. Based near the Northampton area and fully office based, you will support month-end processes, maintain ledgers and assist with intercompany reconciliations.

You will be studying AAT or aiming for a qualification, with strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge, good Excel skills and experience of multi-entity group

Qualifications

• Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge and core accounting principles.
• Experience with journals, accruals and prepayments is required.
• Ability to complete full balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close and management accounts schedules.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate cashbook and bank postings.
• Support daily cash reporting and cash flow information.
• Assist intercompany reconciliations across multiple group entities.
• Provide information to support group reporting and consolidation.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external audit.
• Assist with finance process improvements and standardisation.
• Maintain strong financial controls across entities.
