Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is seeking a reliable Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team in the UK. The role offers the chance to learn, develop and build a career in finance, supporting reconciliations, reporting and client accounting services.

The ideal candidate is studying towards AAT Level 2 or Level 3 with a passion for numbers and personal development. Salary is £14-£15 per hour on a temporary to permanent basis, with study support and progression prospects.

Qualifications

• Ideally studying towards AAT Level 2 or 3.
• Strong numeracy and interest in accounting.
• Good Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, including invoice processing and reconciliations.
• Complete bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate records of commission, fee income and other financial information.
• Reconcile provider statements and income records.
• Assist with the preparation of accounts and bookkeeping for a range of clients.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting within required deadlines.
• Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
• Assist with audits, process improvements and wider finance projects.
