This is a broad role offering considerably more than a traditional financial reporting position. Alongside your core Group Finance responsibilities, approximately half of your time will be dedicated to projects designed to improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of finance across the organisation.

This role is suitable for a qualified auditor who is looking for an excellent first move into industry and a strong foundation for a long-term career in Group Finance and senior financial leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Group Reporting and Financial Control: Support the monthly, quarterly and annual Group reporting cycles.
  • Audit and Statutory Reporting: Support the coordination and delivery of the Group audit and act as the key point of contact between external auditors and finance teams.
  • Accounting Policy and Technical Finance: Help develop, document and embed Group accounting policies and provide guidance to subsidiary finance teams.
  • Finance Projects and Process Improvement: Lead and support projects to improve finance processes, reporting and controls.
  • Treasury and Working Capital: Support the development of Group cash-flow and working-capital reporting.

This is a varied role with a focus on both the routine and non-routine projects to improve the group of companies.

About you

This opportunity is especially well suited to a recently qualified auditor seeking their first move from practice into an international commercial environment.

You are likely to have:

  • An ACA, ICAS or ACCA qualification and experience gained in audit within a Big 4, mid-tier or well regarded regional firm.
  • Approximately three to five years' external audit experience with a sound understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience auditing groups, consolidated accounts or multi-entity organisations, you will ideally have experience of working with clients with a similar structure.
  • The ability to manage assignments and communicate with senior client stakeholders and affect change within a complex environment.
  • Strong analytical, Excel and problem-solving skills, you will take a proactive approach and an interest in improving systems, controls and processes.

Exposure to manufacturing, technology, engineering, energy or internationally operating clients would be advantageous, but is not essential.
