Job summary

Marc Daniels is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join a market-leading Group Finance team in the UK. You will own elements of external reporting, draft statutory accounts, and support the annual report with strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge.

This role suits a newly qualified ACA/ACCA from practice aiming to move into industry, providing exposure to group consolidations, year-end audits, and high-visibility projects within a recognised brand.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with 0–2 years PQE.
• Strong IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge.
• Experience preparing/reviewing financial statements and year-end audits.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver elements of the group's external financial reporting cycle, including draft statutory accounts and IFRS disclosures.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts for UK and overseas entities.
• Lead on technical accounting research and implementation of new or complex IFRS standards.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, group journals, and intercompany accounting at senior level.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax, and corporate finance through year-end and interim processes.
• Support process improvement and control enhancements across the reporting function, including ERP/systems projects.
• Mentor and review work of junior accountants in the reporting team.

You will sit within a busy, high-calibre Group Finance team and take ownership of key parts of the external reporting cycle, while being exposed to complex accounting, group consolidations, and high-visibility projects. What you will be doing

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts for key UK and overseas entities.
• Lead on technical accounting research and implementation of new or complex IFRS standards as required.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, group journals, and intercompany accounting at a senior level.
• Coordinate closely with external auditors, tax, and corporate finance teams through year-end and interim processes.
• Support process improvement and control enhancements across the reporting function, including working with ERP/systems projects where relevant.
• Mentor and review work of more junior accountants and assistants within the reporting team.

What they are looking for

• Newly qualified ACA or ACCA (0-2 years PQE), ideally with a strong audit or financial reporting background from a top/mid-tier practice.
• Solid technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with exposure to group accounts and statutory reporting.
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, working on year-end audits, and dealing with external auditors.
• Strong Excel skills; any ERP or consolidation system experience is beneficial
• Clear communicator who can explain technical accounting positions to non-finance stakeholders.
