Job summary

Ridgeway and Co is seeking an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to oversee groundworks on a large residential development in Takeley, Essex. The role is a long-term contract (18 months) with an immediate start and a daily rate of 350.

You will manage groundworks operations, coordinate subcontractors and resources, ensure safety and quality, and keep the project on schedule through effective teamwork with the wider project team.

Qualifications

• Proven site management experience within groundworks and residential construction.
• Valid SMSTS certificate.
• Valid CSCS card.
• First Aid at Work certificate.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of residential infrastructure and groundworks packages.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing all groundworks operations on site.
• Coordinating subcontractors, plant, labour and site resources.
• Monitoring programme progress and ensuring works are delivered to schedule.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Conducting toolbox talks, site inspections and safety briefings.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality control.
• Monitoring site performance and resolving operational issues.
• Working closely with the wider project team to ensure the smooth delivery of groundworks packages.
