Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & Civils to join a busy construction team in Mansfield, with site visits typically within an hour radius of the East Midlands.

The role covers groundworks and civils projects, assisting with subcontract procurement, measuring works, valuations and payments, and cost reporting. A strong QS background in construction and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector.
• Experience across civils, infrastructure, groundworks or related sector is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• IT literate and hold a Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement of subcontract packages.
• Measure works and prepare valuations.
• Process subcontractor payments.
• Assist with cost reporting and CVRs.
• Manage variations and compensation events.
• Attend site and commercial meetings.
• Support the QS with final accounts.
• Help maintain project budgets and forecasts.
