Laing O'Rourke is recruiting experienced Groundworkers / Drainlayers for Stansted Airport, delivering high-quality drainage and groundwork on a major infrastructure project. You will read drawings, set out levels with laser levels, and work closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient completion of drainage systems and associated structures.

Job description

We are currently recruiting experienced Groundworkers / Drainlayers to join a major infrastructure project based at Stansted Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly skilled team delivering large-scale, high-profile works.

The Role

As a Groundworker / Drainlayer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality drainage and groundwork operations, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of drainage systems including clay, plastic, and concrete pipework
• Construction of manholes, chambers, and associated structures
• Carrying out trenching, benching, and concreting works
• Working from drawings and laser levels to set out accurate levels and gradients
• Ensuring correct alignment of pipelines
• Collaborating with machine operators and site teams
• Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times

Requirements

• CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue Card) – essential
• Proven experience in groundworks or drainage
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong understanding of site health & safety
• Reliable and team-oriented approach
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

• CPCS / NPORS tickets (Dumper, Roller, Excavator)
• Confined Spaces training
• Previous drainage or pipelaying experience
