Job summary

Mears Group in Cambridge is seeking a reliable Groundworker to support a social housing contract. You will perform a range of external works, including paving, drainage, and landscaping, while working around occupied homes with professionalism and safety in mind.

The role requires experience in groundworks, fencing, and drainage, plus a Full UK Driving Licence. A company van and fuel card are provided, with a 42.5-hour week and a permanent full-time agreement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance within a Groundworker role.
• Experience with fencing installations and repairs.
• Experience in drainage repairs, renewals, and installation works.
• Experience in paving, concreting, landscaping and external maintenance works.

Responsibilities

• Carry out external repairs, maintenance, and improvement works across social housing properties.
• Install, repair, and maintain paving, slabs, pathways and access routes.
• Construct, repair, and reinstate concrete bases, footings and hard standings.
• Install and maintain fencing, gates, boundary structures and external features.
• Undertake drainage works including gulley clearing and soakaway installations.
• Carry out landscaping and external improvement works.
• Complete minor brickwork and reinstatement works as required.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and site standards are met.
