Job summary

Ardingly College is seeking an experienced Groundsperson to maintain amenity and horticultural areas to a high standard across Ardingly College and Great Walstead School. The role sits within the Grounds Team, caring for sports pitches, landscaped spaces and the wider estate.

Duties include mowing, aeration, fertilising, line marking, renovations and repairs, and supporting school events, fixtures and external lettings. Applicants should be committed to safeguarding and DBS checks.

Job description

Ardingly College is seeking to recruit an experienced Groundsperson responsible for maintaining amenity and horticultural areas to a high standard throughout Ardingly College and Great Walstead School.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Grounds Team to maintain and develop both schools' extensive sports facilities, landscaped areas and wider estate to the highest possible standards. Responsibilities include the day-to-day preparation and upkeep of sports pitches and outdoor spaces through activities such as mowing, aeration, fertilising, line marking, renovations and repairs, as well as supporting school events, fixtures and external lettings.

Closing date: 5.00pm on 22 September 2026, although applications may be considered upon receipt.
