Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Keeper to join a team responsible for maintaining sites and community facilities within Thornbury. The role is hands-on and includes grounds maintenance, cleaning, basic building maintenance and outdoor site inspections.

This post involves working across locations with a weekend and bank holiday rota to cover safety checks. A full UK driving licence is essential; the role is full-time with 37 hours per week and 31 days of holiday.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weathers and operate ride-on machinery.
• Health and safety qualifications or experience in safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Mow, strim and maintain grounds at sites per regime.
• Clear litter from properties and public areas.
• Inspect play areas and pitches for safety; record checks.
• Carry out basic building maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain cemetery grounds and liaise with funeral directors when required.
• Lock/unlock facilities; safeguard keys and property security.
• Maintain records of areas covered, work performed and hours.
• Follow health and safety instructions and risk assessments.
