Job summary

Onward Homes is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Environmental team in Runcorn. You will work a 37-hour week performing grass cutting, hedge trimming and general upkeep to keep outdoor spaces looking pristine.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a proactive attitude toward safety and teamwork. We offer a competitive salary of £26,250, plus 40 paid days leave, a matched pension up to 10%, a health cash plan and generous family-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in grounds maintenance or environmental/estates work.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Proactive approach to following procedures.
• Advantageous experience: ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers.
• PA1 and PA6 pesticides, NVQ Level 2 in horticulture.
• NPTC CS30/CS31, chainsaw, 360 excavator, and trailers (B+E).

Responsibilities

• Grass cutting, shrub pruning, weed control and litter removal.
• Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely.
• Follow safety procedures and keep accurate records.
• Support mobile team delivering landscape maintenance across schemes.
