Job summary

Brackenberry Ltd is recruiting for a Grounds Operative in Carmarthen on a 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension at the client’s discretion.

The role involves delivering high-quality grounds maintenance across public spaces, operating machinery safely, and supporting park and school environments. A valid UK driving licence and willingness to start immediately are required.

Qualifications

• Training in grounds maintenance machinery.
• Previous experience in gardening or grounds maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
• Ability to allocate tasks and work to set timescales.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to tow trailers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and maintenance of sports areas.
• Set out and mark sports pitches and maintain artificial, synthetic, and natural playing surfaces.
• Undertake site preparation, basic construction, and landscaping activities.
• Clean public buildings, changing rooms, toilets, parks, playgrounds, and open spaces.
• Safely apply pesticides in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and current legislation.
• Operate handheld tools, powered machinery, light plant, tractors, and tractor-mounted equipment.

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay: £12.84 - £16.61 per hour

Summary:

The Grounds Operative (General) will deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services across public parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas, and other open spaces. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance duties, operate machinery and equipment safely, and help maintain attractive, safe, and well-presented public environments.

Responsibilities:
