Job summary

Amey in Glasgow is seeking Permanent Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our Scottish Grounds Maintenance Account. This role involves delivering planned grounds maintenance across school sites and local authority areas, with a focus on grass cutting, hedge trimming and general outdoor upkeep. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence preferably with trailer pulling experience.
• General experience of grounds maintenance duties.
• Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture.

Responsibilities

• Horticulture activities such as planting, pruning and seeding.
• Erecting and dismantling equipment.
• Setting out, making sports pitches including grass and tarmac surfaces.
• Upkeep of artificial and synthetic pitches.
• Tree care.
• Undertaking vehicle, tractor, and cutting equipment checks.
• Weather dependent, carrying out site gritting and snow clearing activities.

We have a fantastic opportunity forPermanent Grounds Maintenance Operativesto join ourSGM AccountinGlasgow.

OurScottish Grounds Maintenance Accountworks in partnership with other Amey accounts to internally deliver grounds maintenance services. Our primary work stream involves the delivery of grounds maintenance services on behalf of our facility management colleagues in Secure Infrastructure.

This work involves all the planned grounds maintenance activities across 70 school sites nationally. These sites are spread over 6 local authority locations, including Borders, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Renfrewshire. In addition to planned maintenance, we also deliver winter and responsive works services. The accounts other main activity is to deliver internal vegetation management on behalf of NMCSW and NMCNE highways contracts.

Grounds Maintenance Operative plays an important part to provide general maintenance, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves, verges, and litter services in theGlasgowarea.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for :

• Horticulture activities such as. planting, pruning and seeding

We want to hear from you if you have:

• Full driving licence preferably with some trailer pulling experience
• General experience of grounds maintenance type duties
• Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture

Inadditionto this, it would be desirable if you have experience in the use ofride on mower equipmentto help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
