Job summary

IMH Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Grounds Person to join our client’s landscape and grounds keeping team in Leicester, LE4. You will work next to the highway and handle pruning, planting, and general maintenance using hand and power tools.

The role requires experience in landscape work, knowledge of safety, and a valid UK driving licence. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, paid at 13.72 per hour with weekly pay via agency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, grounds keeping, gardening, or horticulture.
• Mechanical knowledge to operate power tools and small machinery safely.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and repairs or adjustments.
• Strong knowledge of gardening techniques, plant care, and sustainability.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather.
• Basic understanding of safety standards in grounds keeping.
• Valid UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to maintain healthy growth and visual appeal.
• Operate and maintain trimmers, blowers, and mowers safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools for planting, edging, aerating, and related tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas and address hazards.

IMH are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Person to join our clients landscape and grounds keeping team in Leicester, LE4.

You will be working next to the highway, therefore, we need any applicants to understand the health & safety implications of this. You will be using hand pruners/saws and potentially hedging shears.

Duties:

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal.


• Operate and maintain power tools such as trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers safely and efficiently.


• Use hand tools for planting, edging, aerating, and other groundskeeping activities.


• Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs and address them promptly.


• Follow safety protocols consistently to prevent accidents during equipment operation or manual tasks.

Requirements for role:

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, grounds keeping, gardening, or horticulture.


• Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools and small machinery safely.


• Familiarity with irrigation systems and their repair or adjustment.

Hours & Pay:

• Monday to Friday: 7:30am 3:30pm
