Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Ground Maintenance Operative (Gardener) in Wandsworth, London. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, 3-month contract with potential permanency. Outdoor, hands-on work maintaining communal spaces and pathways for residents.

Requirements include prior grounds maintenance or gardening experience, use of strimmers and hedge cutters, safety awareness, and a valid UK driving licence as a company van is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or related outdoor roles.
• Experience using strimmers and hedge cutters.
• Good understanding of health and safety when working outdoors.
• Physically fit and able to work outside in all weather.
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential as a company van will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general grounds and garden maintenance across housing estates and communal areas.
• Clearing pathways, roads, kerbed areas and other external spaces.
• Grass edging and maintaining neat borders around grassed areas.
• Litter picking and removing leaves, debris and general waste.
• Cutting back and maintaining hedges, shrubs and other vegetation.
• Using strimmers, hedge cutters and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Supporting with general soft landscaping and seasonal maintenance.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and presentable environment for residents.
• Following relevant health and safety procedures when using tools and equipment.
• Working effectively as part of a wider Grounds Maintenance Team.

GROUND MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE (GARDENER)

Location: Wandsworth, South West London Contract: 3 Months Temp to Perm Hours: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm Pay: £14.10 PAYE per hour including holiday pay | £18.25 Umbrella LTD per hour

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for Ground Maintenance Operatives to join a Housing Association in the Wandsworth area, with an immediate start available and the opportunity to move into a permanent position. This is a hands‑on outdoor role working as part of a Grounds Maintenance Team, helping to keep communal areas, pathways and external spaces clean, safe and well maintained.
