Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers seeks a Design Engineer (ground improvement) with strong technical background in geotechnical design, including rigid inclusions and vibro stone columns. Proficiency in PLAXIS 2D/3D is essential. The role is hybrid with several days at home and in-office collaboration.

You will review enquiries, produce designs, support bids, and provide post-contract design reports while maintaining high presentation standards and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in ground improvement design, including rigid inclusions and VSC.
• Proven PLAXIS 2D/3D settlement analysis experience.
• Strong technical, communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed designs for ground improvement schemes pre- and post-contract.
• Perform settlement analyses to support bidding processes.
• Assist work-winning team with design input for tenders.
• Provide post-contract design reports.
• Offer design input on-site and during contract execution.
• Assess design risks and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Build client relationships requiring design input.
• Improve design processes through feedback and high-quality submissions.
