Grinding/Milling Process Owner - Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Grinding/Milling Process Owner - Manufacturing Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time on-site

Working location: Bristol

Working within the Manufacturing Engineering process team in the Bristol Turbines Facility - Machining (BTF-M), you will be responsible and accountable for the grinding and milling machining processes that manufacture high pressure (HP) and intermediate pressure (IP) nozzle guide vanes across the entire Rolls-Royce product portfolio (Civil, Business Aviation and Defence). You will work across automated cells that include robots, machining centres and CMM's whilst also supporting legacy machining platforms. These processes are critical to the yield and delivery rate performance of the facility. This role will support current production and improving current production whilst developing machining programs and processes for future new product introduction.

You will develop and validate manufacturing processes over a variety of parts which deliver the design intent and meet customer and business requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate & lead-time (SQCD). Including supporting day to day production through working collaboratively with operations including shop floor personnel, you will also be accountable for the yield performance of your process and reducing cycle time and reducing consumable costs. You will continuously improve the SQCD of the manufacturing process.

For your respective process you will also be responsible for implementing and improving existing process control. This includes the generation and maintenance of key process input variables (KPIVs), communicating the requirements to the shop floor and implementing robust poke-yoke methods to maximise yield performance.
